I have a 1997 F150 4wd truck with 92000 miles on it. It has an automatic transmission with a 4.6. I do not have a check engine light nor does the truck run hot. The last two weeks I have noticed a vibration that starts around 49 mph and gets worse until about 60mph and than it isn't as noticable. I just replaced the UV joints. It hasn't gone away. I have also noticed an oil leek from the rear seal that seems to have started at the same time the vibration started. If anyone has some suggestions on what or where to look to solve the problem I would appreciate it.
I really believe it isn't a weight on a tire causing the vibration. It feels as if it is coming from the center of the truck the drive shaft or transmission. The oil leak appears to be the rear seal area. It is not transmission fluid. The vibration starts at about 40 mph and grows worse until it gets to 55mph after that it subsides some. I feel that the oil leak is related to the problem.
