another ? on valves

i've searched through the forums on how to adjust the valves on my 66 which has a 300 and have learned a lot on how to do it but one thing that i'm not sure on is are the push rods suppose to be spinning or not? i would think that if there spinning while going up and down that there too loose. any help would be appreciated i just want to make sure b/c do not want to rebuild an original engine that runs good thanks

When they are pushing on the rocker i don't think it should spin, but if it's opening the valve and running fine whats the big deal?

well first a lot of ticking and i mean more than should but i took care of it and second no power which now since i fixed it today it runs good and and if your talkin to me blackwater idk i dont drive it daily yet
