i was wondering on my 66 250 where the kick panels or whatever in the front corners of the cab there are the vents but more torwards the door there are square holes there i asked my dad as he has had experiences with these trucks and he has no idea maybe courtesy lights? thanks
As you can tell by looking in that square hole, you'll see a bolt head looks to be a fender bolt. Originally these trucks came with small panels held on by a single screw, same principal as the door hinge panel. I suspect over the years people would remove these and just never put them back on, probably intended to but never got a "round-to-it" any way if your lucky enough you can find them at the wrecking yard or e-bay.
I suppose you can put courtesy lights there just remember there is a bolt there that you'll need to access sooner or later.
It wasn't duct tape was it? If you want some I can send you two I remover when I took the fenders off my parts truck. And ya I didn't put them back on. ha

Haha. Actually, it it some kind of wide red reflector tape. Like the stuff you see on broken taillights. if you ahve a couple of extra covers, I would be happy to buy them from you. Shoot me an email ! Thanks!
Where is Azle? Been to midland once. Looks a lot like eastern Washington except for the oil wells. Love that Texas accent !! Stopped at a bar & grill and this cutest little waitress took our order then said " yawls Yankee's ain't ya "
Henry, it is 20 miles west of Ft.Worth. Your story reminds me of the time I was in Chicago at a convenience store and the gal said " you have to be from Texas". I said "yes mam " .. Hardest town I ever tried to find a can of Copenhagen !
My 61 has something like that over the holes. But i think someone may have made them sometime, they are just plain ole sheet metal, and rivetted in place.
