Carburetor Selection Help
I am trying to decide what carburetor to use on a (1983 F-100 2wd Short Bed with a 302 engine 2BBl w Automatic Overdrive Transmission).
I have a 2bbl carb on it now and it is not the right one for it. It runs decent but lack fuel economy that it once had.
I don't know if I should go with a reman that is made for the AOD transmission or switch to a 4bbl performance.
The problem with 4 bbl is the overdrive did work correctly. The truck had one on it in 1992 but was traded for the 2bbl carb and intake it has now.
What should i do? Can a 4bbl system be used and also work correctly with the overdrive transmission? Should I just get a reman that is made for the truck. (Rebuilding my old one is not an option).
I am looking for the best fuel economy and performance possible.
I am getting about 15mpg now.
