Numbers the HD flasher does nothing to correct the under size gage wires ran to all the lights. This is one reason ford has problems with switches. As the wires heat up so does the resistance and amperage. If you put a DVM on the tale light you have a voltage drop, that is significant. All of the connectors to make the harness easy to replace adds to the resistance. Ford discontinued this (firewall connectors) after it lead to a lot of electrical problems. One advantage to my setup is if I get a short in the trailer, I do not loose my truck lights. All of the after market harness use larger gage wiring than the factory. As with every thing else as technology goes forward a lot of electrical load is shed, LED tale lights as one, will greatly lighten the load on the wiring. These require a special flasher unit to load the circuit to make them blink.
