I need a tuner

Ok, heres the deal I have an 05. 5.4l f150 4x4 I am looking to get a tuner to get some extra horsepower while pulling my drag car. What tuner should I get. I would like to get a tuner that i could tune my buddys trucks with too. I figure if i could tune all 3 of ours with one id be happy. I could charge them 50 bucs and keep the tuner myself. One has an 05 5.4 the other 06 with 5.4. Any recomendations.

To my knowledge there isn't a tuner that can do more then one vehicle at a time. You can look at DTCs from different vehicles(with the same engine of course) to your hearts desire, unless you actually buy tuning softare and 3 tuners and do it that way. For the 5.4, I would think doing Troyer custom tunes would probably be the best(I'm a big advocate of custom tuning after having had both off the shelf tunes and custom tunes) and there isn't any way to do one tuner to hold tunes for 3 different vehicles and custom tuned to each individual driver's specs.

I couldn't find anything on the software packages, although I did find out for the sniper software you can upload the file right to the vehicle for one particular vehicle, but then you have to put it on a tuner or chip for the other vehicles. The user ReAX is the one that could let you know about the pricing and specs on the sniper software as I believe he uses it. As far as custom tuning, depending on the tuner(the device, not the person) that you get if you where to get it from Troyer(which i believe is the better one for the 5.4 engine from what I have heard on hear) the price can range from 250-600 dollars, but the email updates if you were to change your vehicle(supercharger etc) then it would be an email update of your files for about 65(that's just from what I understand from his website, do want to check with him to be sure on that though). Hope this helps.

For your usage of wanting to tune other vehicles as well as your own, the sniper special forces would be the most cost efficient method. It allows you to tune 2 vehicles with the special forces and can buy "bullets" to be able to tune more vehicles. Definitely message ReAX for more info as he has first hand experience with it.
