i remember one of the winter olympic games (did they have it in 1990?) in school and we all watched the hockey games during class. it got pretty crazy and was fun.

I don't remember China being a big bugaboo....But East Germany was always the 'enemy'.....As was Cuba (especially in boxing).......
It was like rooting for the 'good guys' against the 'bad guys'......a la pro Wrestling.......
