Actually now that I think about it I still have a TH400 up in Idaho not quite the same 3 speed but I do think everything else is pretty much the same. I would give it to you plus brand new tq 2000 stall if you just paid the shipping
also what part of id are you in, i live in north dakota but i might be going to california to bring back a toyota pu i have stored out at my moms place in a few months, last time i went to cali i remember going threw part of idaho
If you lost all forward and reverse, I would think that bands are broke or the pack took a crap. the cable sets line pressure, so if its too far out, I dont think it will engage enough to move a vehicle, but I am not sure on that. Rebuild of a 700 r4 here at our speed shop is 750 bucks minus the torque converter. You can get trannys out of wrecked trucks around here for just a tad over scrap prices. Maybe 300 to 350 range, and since you have the old style, tranny should come in and out in about 2 hours, but your out the cost of tranny juice, which by the way seams to be going as high as diesel fuel, what the heck is the deal with that?
i wish i could get a rebiuld for 750 bucks around here, the best quote i got was 1600 if i do the re-re myself. but that is with a new converter. id agree with about 4-6 hours of time for re-re
http://www.bismanonline.com/getListing.php?a=135822 well i decided to post it up forsale, if i come up with a cheep trans or if me and Aberasturi_c work out a deal ill fix it otherwise ill just take my loss if i sell it for 800 ill loose about 200 dollars i have about a grand in it, it would be alot worse but i bought the truck for dirt cheep with a bad motor and recouped most of the cost from selling off extra parts (including the good trans out of the blazer DOH)

Unfortunately that transmission was one of the crappiest that GM made, what a surprise HuH. best thing is pull the pan and see if there are any clutch disk fragments in the pan, if there is not, it is either the front pump or could be the torque converter, like Ford they used a lock up torque converter, Honestly before I had it rebuilt, Check into a used one, from a wrecking yard, you could get lucky and find one with decent miles and swap it. Hope that helps a bit, good luck.
you can e-mail me I will be in Nampa that is just west of Boise. Are you going to North Cali or South? I can just give it to you if you are going threw that way but I would bet by the time you are heading out there the truck would have sold
im going to be going to southern cali last time i went there i took us 20 to I15 threw like idaho falls. i dont know if the truck will sell or not, i wont come down on my price before i would take any less for it ill fix it.
Idaho Falls is like 2-2.5 hrs from where I will be if you want we could probably meet up somewhere around Idaho Falls I have a good friend there, actually the one that gave me the tranny in the first place, I could run everything over there on a weekend or something if you think you will be going back that way again.
i will be going that way but im not sure exactly when yet, i need to get the cash saved up as desile is 4.00 a gallon and its over 3000 miles round trip and still have to put in for my time off, id say probably sometime in the next 2-3 monthes
