i am putting a 351w in my '78 f-250 i have a few questions. what is the easiest way to tell the year of a winsor? also what would be the best clutch/pressure plate combo, keep in mind that this will be a daily driver while seeing mud occasionally? also does anyone know where i could find headers for this swap? any input will be valued>
Look up from the bottom, there is a narrow ledge behind the starter on the passengers side. Should be a number like this: D4AE-6015-AA-10
The 1st space is decade (C=1960, D=1970, etc)
The 2nd space is year of decade
The 3rd space is make (ford,Mercury, etc)
The 4th is engineering or service group (C=chassis, B=body, E=engine or Z,Y,X,M)
6015 is an engine block
The rest is used to designate engineering changes
The date code will tell you when it was asembled. I found mine stamped on a small boss on the passenger side head.
