New Intake Gaskets Still problems?

Using Rockledge's post and after having "Ford" confirm codes 0171 and 0174 I have replaced with new, the upper intake gaskets, the fuel rail gasket and O rings on the injectors and EGR O ring. At first I thought all was well... but I have begun to experience a little surging at idle especially when the air cond. compressor cycles on and off? The increase in rpm seemed a little high but now it has developed a little stumble and the CE light comes on? The pcv valve checks out and I can't find any other vacuum hose problems? I'm not sure how or if I can adjust idle speeds. The engine is a 4 litre and I did torque the intake to specified amount? Any ideas!

Bummer! I remember having to disconnect a lot of wiring connectors and some vacuum lines. Any chance something isn't reattached properly or a hose got cracked?

Bob, you hit the money right on the head! I went back and took a lonnnng looook at how I put things back together! You were right; I missed two vacuum hoses that were hiding amongst all the plumbing and wires scattered about? Interestingly I drove around for nearly a few hours before the CE light came on and the surging and hesitation began? Oh well I think I have all the bits put back in the right place! I will post again if things change. Thanks for your input though. It prompted me to have a closer look at what I had done.
