I have the steel door panels on my 68 with the chrome trim running around the edge. I have tried a couple of times to pry the trim off to get the the screws so I can fix my window. I don't want to ruin the trim or break the retainers if they are hard to find.
Mine 68 Ranger besides the clips had 4 screws, 1 in each corners. I have a special tool for getting into door panels. It's basicly a thin sheet of tempered steel, thin enough to slip between the trim and panel.
I tried again last night, as long as you pry right where the clip is they pop out without bending the chrome trim. The clips are metal so they are reusable.
