I searched around to see if I could find some threads but being in Iraq on military computers does not afford me much time to surf the internet so I am hoping anybody who has done this mod or are familiar with it would help me out.
I've been riding around in a lot of Ford 2006 F-250 and 350's and they have nice bucket seat-middle console-bucket seat configurations. Has anyone tried to swap these into an older F-250? I have a 70 F-250 CS and was wondering if you'd just have to change the rails? Would the tank be in the way? Any info to help would be greatly appreciated.
I saw a beautiful conversion of a 89 bench seat swap that was amazing. I may opt for something like that if the individual seats and console will not work.
I have a 68 F250 4x4 with the inside fuel tank. I just removed the factory bench and installed a triple bucket with fold down center/ cuprests/glovebox that I took out of a 1996 F150 4x4 Eddie Bauer. I drilled 4 new holes in the floor ( real close to the stock holes) and dropped it in using 4 bolts w/ big washers etc. The center seat belt that came on the new seat bolted into my stock seatbelt holes. It even looks like the outside shoulder belts are adaptable. That is my next project. It is like driving a new truck! I am 6-2 and now I sit taller and firmer. One of the best 150 buck investments on this truck for sure.
When I did mine- research indicated 96 was the cut off year for a bolt up fit. Installed my tracks to 96 bench from F150 ( 68 tracks bolted right on ) I set about 2" higher and seat will work with in cab gas tank if your not over 6' tall.
from a different thread, i would just say search in this section of the site for "seat" and you will come up with a lot.
