I dont like Sony. I've had too many go bad... Memorex all the way. Never had a bad disc, DVD or CD. and I have burned hundreds of discs.
My Dvd collection is about 100 to 200 discs, and my CD collection (music & data) is well over 1000.

I've always bought the cheapest I could get my hands on and never realy had a problem with any except verbatim, but that was back when they were $15.00 a piece.

WHAT! No one uses cassette tapes anymore?
I've had bad luck with most of them.
Probably it's either my burner, software, or a combination of both.

Have you tried your Zippo with your cassette tapes. You'll find they burn quite nicely...

Have you tried burning at the slowest possible speed?
Different players?
Tried the "Verify Data After Burning" and what are the results?

X2 for Verbatim CDs and DVDs. I never really had any trouble with the rest, but for DVDs I have found that the ones on Verbatim discs seem to have a better picture quality.

I use memorex myself and I've never had a problem except for the one that I managed to drop and scratch to heck. I like sony's too they feel heavier/ more durable than other brands for some reason.
