hi guys,i have a new 08 f150 fx4.i had the tires changed before taking the truck, also had a 2.5 level kit installed before taking the truck from dealer.the tires i put on are bfg's km2's mud terrain.i had a wheel alignment done right away.now that the roads are starting to clear of ice i can feel a wooble in the sterring at highway speeds.so i had my tires balanced again to make sure that this is not the problem, well any way aftre trying the truck on the highway again the wheel still woobles. anyone have any ideas.thanks for your help.i should mention that the truck only has 1000kilometers on it. lionel
Hit anything while mudding? Bent rim? Driveshaft? Tie rod ends? Dunno' my friend from the North...(I'll assume that since you quoted your mileage in KM's.)
yes your right i am in labrador canada.this truck has not seen any type of off roading yet.truck is all black, not sure it will ever see off road.i forgot to say my tires are 35/12.5's
ok guys, i have some new info and still more questions.today i had my tire shop look at the tire balance again, they decided to use a system which uses silicone beads inside the tire to balance,he tells me the tire is perfectly balanced.tried the truck on the highway and as soon as i hit 60kph the steering goes nuts, but the truck tracked straight.slowed down and tried her again and nothing the steering wheel is dead still.tried again and the steering wheel is shaking like crazy!!!!tried this many times and the result always seemed to alternate.so do you guys think this could be the tires,i mean the tire shop said they are balanced,so the would not be differant on the machine than on the truck, would they?anyone have any ideas i can check? thank you for your time.
Check your tie-rod ends...When they did the alignment, they screwed something up is what it sounds like to me. Your tires are spreading apart...your toe is off.
