Hi Conanski,
Surprisingly, your link to the AACNC club went through. This site requires users to purchase a membership to read the contents usually.
How useful do you find their site? I notice it shows only a few cylinder heads. Is there a comprehensive listing of cylinder heads and other components available to members?
That's exactly my problem, I have an E5 and it says 30 in the corner. So how does that figure in your equation? I'll have to check, but my other head has a "R" in the corner , and I (believe- don't hold me to this), it's a '78? I'll double check and let you know.
I've been playing with these things for a long time... the only numbers that mean anything are on the head gasket side of the head under the intake port... I always wondered what all those ather numbers ment.
You all are right, I totally missed 'head gasket' side and the turn-over joke applying to the bottom of the head. The heads are still on the engine, he'll probably pull them this weekend and I'll get another look at the bottom. Paul, my stock E7 heads have a T also on the corner your talking about. These heads have a line that looks like a large I and the number 4 in the same place.
OK all, I'm back. My buddy pulled the heads and called me (I'm out of town again), looks like they are E7te, same as I have. He layed them beside mine (94 truck heads) and said that the valves look slightly bigger, he was comparing distance from valve edge to edge of chamber. His heads are from a 5.0 mustang. I know smaller valves tend to mean more torque (I think). If these valves are bigger, I'll measure later this week, should I consider these heads over mine? Either way I will be porting.
