Cowl

Is there a gasket or rubber seal that fits under the cowl vent? My F-1 has a cowl vent but I noticed that it leaks a little water through the vent even if it is closed. Any help and ID of a part would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, there is a gasket that screws to the cowl.

Dennis Carpenter part# 7C-8102330-A for $8. I also would assume some of FTE sponsors would have them too.

does it screw to the cowl or is it glued to the cab body? The book says to glue it to the cab?

I have a late 1950 F-1. The engine runs fine. It just needs a little body work and good paint job. I appreciate all of your help and be sure I will be driving without a wet floorboard.

The rubber seal, part #02230, placed around the lip on vent, part #02104, is screwed into the cowl by a 6 or 8 screws, part #35999-S. You will see holes in the rubber for the screws.
