When driving, as I accelerate, the blower cuts down to very low speed. When I let go of the gas pedal, it blows full speed (or whatever I have it set at.) This happens on all AC settings. I have not tested it in ac off condition.
I was told that it might be a vaccum problem, but the local stores don't sell the repair manual for 2003 and newer expeditions, nor does the dealer carry it. As luck would have it, my emission sticker under the hood has water damage, so is unreadable.
Weird - blower only slows down when your on the gas?
You could put the EATC through its self-test program and see what DTCs, if any, that it finds:
1. Turn the ignition key from off to theon position.
2. Press the OFF and FLOOR buttons simultaiously on the EATC.
3. Press the AUTOMATIC button within 2 seconds.
4. The display will show a pulse trace going around the center of the display.
5. Record any DTCs diaplayed
6. Clear all DTCs and exit self-test by pressing the DEFROST button.
Thanks for the info on the codes. Nothing came up so I returned the vehicle to the dealer where I bought it from two weeks ago. They came up with its a vacuum leak in the dash causing the blendor door to close and divert the air to the defroster.
Now my problem is figuring out how to tear the dash down. I still can't find a resource like a chiltons or haynes to help.
Has anyone torn the dash apart on the 2003 expedition yet and has some cautions I need to be aware of, last thing I want is to be breaking the clips and retainers off of our new truck.

Look for a damaged vacuum hose near (under?) the battery tray. I've seen a lot of threads on this particular leak spot, but never actually seen it in person. It's the hose that feeds the vacuum controls for the EATC. Also test the check valve and vacuum canister if equipped. Don't start tearing the inst. panel out before you check everything external.
