I think the emblem looks cool, go for it! Actually, the only time that the emblem looks bad is when someone puts it on a non-XLT truck. Then it looks out of place.

Well if you do then it was there for sure. If not you could always just add the emblem with the help of a drill. It is YOUR truck so if you like the emblem put it there

Yes I have it on my grille. The picture you posted of XLT emblem goes on cowl I think.

I like the grill XLT emblem, but I won't put one on my 77 just because it wasn't on there before. And mine is a Ranger XLT.

Well, I look at it like this, "It's my truck and I'll build it however makes me happy." LOL
On the serious side, I think you could keep it if you keep the older style grille. It is kind of a period correct badge up a upper leve truck. thats why it was there in the first place.
