1967/72 F100/350's could be ordered with an optional 25 gallon auxillary tank which mounted on the drivers side inside the left frame rail.

The filler neck came through the quarter panel below the scallop (bumpside) line about a foot or so in front of the rear wheel opening.

There was no passenger side tank offered. Your truck prolly has "aftermarket saddle tanks." These were sold and installed by several manufacturers, one being the Fey Bumper Company.

The usual location for the filler necks of these tanks was above the scallop (bumpside) line.

Mine has a strange one....in addition to the behind the seat tank, there is a square-ish one located behind the driver under the bed OUTSIDE the frame rails....the filler neck comes up inside the bed trough the front corner floor of the bed....there is also a metal corner plate in there to prevent stuff from going out the hole from the bed.

Is this one of the aftermarket ones?

yes and now are not legal in many areas, for a number of reasons. but it is not an OEM style aftermarket. the OEM style aftermarket ones were all INSIDE the frame rail.

All the Ford tanks were mounted inside the frame rail drivers side.

One well known company mounted their auxillary tanks outside the frame rail, right up against the left quarter panel.

That lead to ppl being injured or killed, because in a collision, the gas tank exploded.

There are a lot of those 1970's, early 1980s GMC and Chevrolet trucks still on the road today.

if i remember right (and i do that very little) you can use OEM super duty front springs (leaf) and it will give you 2 or 3 inch of lift...or was that the back? i know that you can on the front OR the back but not both...
