I have on 03 f150 4x4 with the little v-8 and auto and 50k miles. The truck runs fine most of the time. Except when the weather is cold and wet and truck is still cold I'll start it up and it will idle real rough and hesitate when its driven. It seams once the motor is warm if I restart it runs fine. The check engine light hasn't come on. also it doesn't do this every time its cold and wet, maybe 4 time in the last year or so. Any Ideas whats going on .
There a k&N Air filter in it if that makes any differnce.
My 97 does that too. Some guys say the IAC needs cleaning. I'm just soooo unmotivated about getting into my engine I havent tried that to see if it works yet.
Sounds like it's time to pull the coils and inspect the boots. If they look ok, add some dielectric grease to them and reinstall. Sounds like moisture is causing a misfire.
I'll Give that a a shot. I used to have a bronco II and got real good at cleaning the IAC, so I'll check that out at same time. When inspecting the boots am I looking for anything in particular or just deterioration.
