tranny problem ?

hello, i'm new so please bear with me. i've read about 19 pages of posts in the 87-96 posts and found some helpful suggestions. i would like to put my problem out there and see what you think. here we go, sorry for the length, i have a 92 150 5.0 xlt w/ an e4od. 170,000 miles. i've had it now for a year or so. the problem is pulling a hill out of od it will upshift to soon and lug. you have to punch it to get it to down shift. also when slowing down it won't go into 1st from 2nd and will stall the engine. this is all intermittant. also turning at slow speeds under 10 mph it will try and sometimes does die on me. the idle will surge when you take your foot off the throttle as well. ex., stop and go traffic under 10 mph, it will surge when you take your foot off the acc. pedal and sometimes die. this is what i've replaced, iac valve, fuel filter, tps, pcv, thermostat, plugs wires cap,and rotor, catalitic con.,egr valve and sensor, map, had a fuel injector service done, pulled and cleaned throttle body, changed tranny filter and fluid, blew all vacuum lines, replaced oil pressure sending unit, and also new coil and mod. my mechanic said no codes. is it the solenoid switch, valve body? i'm going to check the fpr soon. please help. this is the 1st truck i've ever owned and i need it. not just a toy. thank you for any replies.

update

i went and bought a fpr guage and got 20lbs. w/ key on and 30 running at cold startup. pulled fpr vac line and smelled gas none visible. does that mean the fpr is shot? also ran a vac. test about 8 months ago and got a 20 reading. also when i first got the truck w/out knowing i adjusted the idle stop screw. reading the article on tps at fordfuelinjection i realized my mistake today. can this be corrected and readjusted by hand?
