Well, last week I took my truck in to get inspected. After a $650 bill, it didn't pass because I don't have working low beams. I forgot all about my low beams and daytime running lights not working. It's been like this for quite a few months now, I've been so use to just using my Fog lights when night driving I completely forgot.
So, here's the deal, I bought a new Headlight Auto/fog light switch as thats what I thought was wrong. It arrived today... and it still didn't fix the problem. I noticed a few weeks ago, the low beams DO infact work very very rarely when I turn the headlight switch in the cab. Sometimes they come on, most times not.
Any idea of what can be my problem here? Is there any relays, etc going to the headlights that possibly can go bad. About 7 months ago my low beams stopped working, 5 months ago my auto daytime running lights went out. High Beams have been working when needed all the time.
I'm stumped and need to get this fixed ASAP as my inspection has been up.
I'm pretty sure that there is a relay forthe day time running lights. I'm sure one of the other guys will respond with more answers. Their knowledge is unbeleiveable!
No, I never got an owners manual with my truck.. I did remember seeing an online owners manual somewhere but I do have a service manual. I'll check the connection but I can't see both sides doing it at the same time... Going off at the same time and coming on at the same time. You would think maybe just one would go out but not in my case.
It does sound like a relay issue since it seems like each headlight has it's own fuse. I'm not really familiar with the auto headlight set up but they may need a complete circuit for it all to work.
