When going to the Ford Parts Website, I try to find the spark-plug stock number for my 08 F-150. Unfortunatly I am certain I still have the old style heads, but maybe I'm lucky, I dunno and don't have time to pull a plug right now. I figured that they would have a vin code to determine which plug belonged in which truck, but they don't list the 08 150's at all.
I figure that at some point Ford had to change something in the engine code on the vin# to identify the difference or have some other kind of identifier besides the paper label on the valve cover, wouldn't they?
Are ther two different part numbers for the two types of plugs?
They changed heads and sparkplugs after build date, 10/07/2007. Check the build date on your eng. either on valve cover on driver side or on build sheet.
That's the problem. When I enter my VIN, it correctly identifies my truck. I can find several parts, however, when I check on the spark plugs I get the message "Sorry, there were no parts found for that lookup."
My engine code is V. It is a FFV 5.4. I'm 99% sure it's pre 10/7/07, so it should be the old plugs. Is there a different engine code for the post 10/07/07 FFV 5.4's? How is the parts department or places like Auto zone, who sells Motocraft spark plugs going to differentiate the engines/plugs?
