Ok finally the weather has broke and it was nice enough to start working on the X. I have had the bug now for a few eeks to start on the gauges that I purchased for ITP. So I started to feed the wires down towards the hook ups under the dash. I ran into a problem with the illumination wire harness. However the first problem was with me skipping over steps 1-4 and using the voltmeter and testing the wires. DUH. As I was under the dash I noticed that the instructions said the wire hook up was light blue w/ red trace top center wire. My top center is a bright yellow. Question is this one and the same wire. All the other wires match up color wise to the picture in the instructions. Has anyone else had the same issue with the wire coloring? Third should I stop being a cheap ace and buy a tester after I spent all the money on the gauges? Thanks for the help.
Ok it is hard to tell (as I am color blind) but it looks like the light blue/red is next to the yellow wire in your picture. My wiring diagram says that the 2002 X should be light blue/red.
Sorry picture quality sucks, but the wire next to the yellow one is light blue with black tracer. On dieselmanner.com it shows that I have to go through the dimmer switch and take the cover off of that. Maybe tomorrow I will try that instead.

I was just going to say to go to Diesel Manors website and look at their instructions. They are very good as you know because you already did it.
Thanks TENN. even yours looks a little different wiring harness than mine also. Looks like you have a yeloow wire in the middle on the bottom. I'll give it a ago in the morning after I head to home depot to get a tester.
Well I went at the wiring this afternoon. The lights work, however I tried to expose the wire a little with the strippers (for wiring not entertaining) . I accidently broke one of the wires from the rear of the illumination harness. So with the extra spade I hooked it back up. Maybe when the weather breaks I'll get it fixed. I tried everthing so far and no problems with the connections. I have two light blue with red tracers in the rear of the harness. Does anyone know what the bottom corner closest to the radio is for? thats the one that broke and is rigged up for now.
HOLD ON A MINUTE... You say you have LED back lights in your gauges. I don't think you want them tied off the dimmer (regular dash lights) line. LEDs don't work like light bulbs. I tied mine into the "lights" line connected to my trailer brake controller. You can also probably go off the light switch, but I don't know which color you want.
