stupid idea-would it work?

I was talking with my friend about those "aussie" cleveland heads and how difficult they are to find. So we came up with this stupid idea. The big plan is to weld in the cumbustion chamber of an open chamber head and then duplicate the size and shape of the closed chamber design? I know there is alot more to it than that, but what if everything turned out perfect, would it work? Also, is it possible to weld in the combustion chamber at all, like to fix a crack or something?

It can be done, but it is expensive!! I personally think that it's easier to just yank the motor and install higher compression pistons. The stock cleveland heads are a great design from a performance standpoint, in fact, the stock 2bbl heads with 76 cc chambers flow almost as much air as the Edelbrock performer rpm aluminum heads for 302's! Just my $.02
