I'm near the point where I'm going to need to remove some of the chrome trim on my 48 so I can sand/prime/paint.
I went to remove the 'Ford' emblem from the side of the hood and the bolt/nut assembly sheared off like nothing. Anyone have any tips for removing hardware from white metal like this? I was thinking about cutting the other nuts with a dremel tool, but that doesn't really seem like a great idea. They're pretty rusted on.
Yeah that stuff gets pretty brittle over the years......I would think a dremel and some patience splitting the rusty nuts may work....or try lots of penetrating oil...that way you can see some smoke when you resort to the dremel
