Swapping beds...

Will the bed from a 93 F250 bolt to the frame of an 86 F260? The beds are almost identical in length.

Thanks Forum.

Yes, the wheel opening will look a little different but it will bolt directly on.

Excellent! I'll remove the 86's bed tonight and that will give me a chance to redo all the wiring for the lights... Anyways... thanks!

The newer bed will only need 6 bolts instead of the 8 bolts used by your old bed. I have a 93' bed on my truck.

As said before it will fit and the 6 bolts will line up with the holes in the frame for the old bed.

You could have either an 8 or 6 bolt bed on your 86. They began the change to the 6 bolt fastening system that year. If you have an 8 bolt bed on your 86, get the bolts with the 93 bed. They will be different from the 8 bolt bed where they attach to the bed.
