Can anybody tell me how long it might take to get an original 1956 F100 272 and cooling system above 100 degrees? The lowest readin is at 100 degrees. I have installed a SunPro mechanical water guage but can not get it to work in the block. It works fine in a glass of heated microwaved water but not it the truck. Looking for an help as this "easy" install is getting the better of me.
Alot of times opening the cooling system introduces air/displaces coolent..thus the sensor may be in an air pocket.
They wont read air temp until it's WAY too hot.Could be your problem.
Make sure the heat is turned on( heater valve open) ,fan speed LOW make sure coolent system is fully bled.Hope this helps, hope you get a reading.Good Luck!
