the one from the 71 should be the high compression version with 365hp and 500ft/lbs of torque. compression was about 10:1.
the 73 compression dropped to about 8 or 8.5:1 and hp down to around 265hp give or take.
check the heads numbers (above the center exhaust port) the 71 should have the DOVE heads while the 73 should have the D3VE heads.
the 71 (if it is the high compression version) will require premium fuel and even then, you are probably going to get some pinging under load.
so your choice. one has more hp from factory but requires premium fuel to run, the other is lower hp but lower fuel costs also.
