hey everyone its been a while since i last posted but im back. all is ok... with my truck (is case you forgot 1980 f250 with 1971 429 swap) the engine runs i warmed it up today after it had been sitting for months in the garage waiting for a warm day to work on it. right now there are problems some we know how to fix and well do that others were kinda lost. the major issue right now is our dipstick because we switched to a rear sump type system the dip stick has been moved to the side. heres the problem the exhaust header were using gets in the way of the dip stick install. we have even used a flexible type after market dipstick, and it still doesnt work. thats one issue. the other issue is how were going to mount the power steering pump cause the pulley makes contact with the power steering box. we know the trans problem and were going to fix that soon any HELP would be greatly appreciated. p.s. i was at the race expo thing at pheasant run resort it was fun and gave me the itch to get back to finishing my truck.
Hello, with my 460ci I use the dipstick that goes thru the front timing cover then down into the sump- you could plug the side dipstick hole and use the front one...much easier to get to and you wont get burnt fingers when you check your oil.
I modified the pan dipstick and tube. It's not perfect but it does clear the headers and tell me what my oil level is. I think you can see it in my gallery pics at some point.
