My Speedometer Has some play in it when going down the road it bounces back and forth atleast a mph. Did these trucks do this when new or was it something that has broke or wore out? and can something tighten it up abit.
No, I mean removing the cable from the speedo and tranny, and the truck.. filling one end with spraycan white lithium grease, and rotating it back and forth many times, then do it again. the flutter in the speedo is from the cable.

Cool thanks for the info. I had just put a new clutch in the truck before winter and haven't driven much since. I had the speedo cable off, I bet this is why the speedo is doing this. I didn't recall it doing that before I had it off.
the cables are lubed from the factory, but if a truck/car sits for a long time... or if the cable is left open, they can dry out and develop a flutter. Try that and see how it works.
walmart/autozone/pepboys/the pharmacy I work for sells it even in the auto section. Use the white lithium grease, it's light and will flow. heavy duty style wheel bearing grease will not work.
