Ok, so this may be more of a joke than a question based on what I've heard in the past. I have the opportunity to purchase a '78 Bronco with a 351M, C6, and NP205 for $300. I'm really interested in the axles and the above. I'm planning on swapping them into my Ranger. However, I was seriously wondering what kind of mileage you were getting with your 351M's. As far as I know, this engine is totally stock, and hasn't been rebuilt. What could I expect? Thanks.

 

12 MPG at best!

I could get 12.5 doing 65 on road trips, 10 MPG in town if I was lucky.

I get anywere from 7-10mpg and i have a holley 2 barrel carb on it and its mostly in town.

I have the 351M with a Holley 2 Barrel and I get around 7-8 mpg.

 

Same here with a 4bbl. They just like gas!
