They share a plateform, but I would hardly call it a rebadged 6, they look nothing a like thank goodness. The 6 a long with the other mazda's loose out in the style department. Mazda's are great cars, but the styling sucks in my opinion, the miata is the only one with style, the rest have that ugly nose.
What ford owns is controlling interest in mazda, they pull the strings, it's concidered one of fords companies. So there's alot of sharing goes on between the two and it works out well for both.
Yeah i second that, a manual with a v6 would be nice. For some reason though Ford doesnt like to pair the biggest engine they provide with a manual unless its a Mustang or a GT. It sucks.
The Fusion is based off of the Mazda 6. The body and interior are different, but other than that its pretty much the same car.
Its kind of hard to call it an, "American" car when its designed by the Japanese and built in Mexico.
Not really, there's alot of americans that work on the mazda design teams. Ford and mazda are conected at the hip. Plateform sharing between the two help keep cost down and give us a top notch product. Mazda is just another ford company like volvo in which to share idea's.
