Man I almost hate to post this poll but here goes....
Assuming you had to chose between two trucks to buy and one was already a Ford, which other one would you choose: Dodge or GM (Chevrolet & GMC included)
The only truck between the two I would consider to buy would be the GM twins. That would be the truck in my opinion that would be the closest to what Ford has to offer, although the Ford is better.
my truck before my f-250 was a dodge 2500 and it was a damn good truck but I wanted to go back to a gasser for towing and the v-10 dodges are hard to find so it was back to a ford.I was a diehard ford guy until trying a dodge,I would walk before driving a gm
My best friend has a 2001 chevy 3/4 ton, with a 6.0L. He has 175,000 on it and it runs as strong today as the day he drove it off the lot with 10,000 on it. That is one hell of an engine.
Dodge trucks fall apart after 5 years if you work them at all. I swear they put there trucks together with paper clips.
I kinda depends on what the other truck is for. GMs tend to have a smoother ride, but Dodges seem to do better in a more "rugged" environment (offroading).
I answered Dodge, but for me it depends on which motor. I'm driving a PSD so I'd go with the Cummins. But if it were a gasser I was buying it would be GMC. Don't care for the Hemi, personally. GMC interior is much nicer than the Dodge too. Dodge leaves sharp edges on plastic trim and the sheet metal is thin. Still, Dodge is the better towing/working truck.
Tough question, and really glad I don't have to make that choice.
Good question...made me think a little. I come from a family of "Roofers" and it has always been chevy and Dodge. The only Fords owned before I became a FordFan were a pair of sweet 1/2 tons, a 78 and a 79, (fleet side, 3 speed columns with 300 6's)I'd love to have them now! Everybody always says that the chevys are not rugged...not true, we beat them up pretty bad.
We raced MOPAR on dirt tracks. Awesome power.
My answer;
Chevy for gasoline engines b/c the engines are solid but mainly b/c overall quality of the truck is better.
Diesel - gotta go with the cummins.
