So I was replacing my glow plugs today. Easy as cake. Came down to last one and it was under 3 fuel lines from the injectors. So I removed the middle one and had just enough room for the socket. Got the glow plug in and everything was fine. Went to go reinstall the line and the tip at the end cracked. No more compression fitting. Im assuming its easy to get one replaced. They are only like 18 inches long. My question is am I able to still drive the vehicle with it dripping fuel from it.
You can still drive it, but fuel economy will go in the basement and you will be loosing a good bit of fuel.
Best price I have seen for a replacement is at www.mwfi.com
Keep following the links to the Ford IDI page.
You have to know the cylinder number to order a replacement.
Passenger side front to back, 1,3,5,7
Drivers side front to back, 2,4,6,8
The local dealer will probably want 80 dollars for one.
Yeah my concern isnt really about the fuel economy but about damaging anything. Thanks alot Dave. I found one on ebay for about 2 bucks less then www.mwfi.com
Plus I can pay with paypal which I have some money on there so Ill probably do that.
Do you think I could put a little can underneath to catch the fuel lol. Would that even be worth it?
