I was just reading up on this actually, I'm an information junky, I like to be well informed before making decissions. I was skeptical of even building the 331 as so many high reving stangs and such use it. Further reading revealed that these strokers are capable of some real nice low end numbers. I have been looking at a cam setup from Crane as a preliminary thing it's range is Idle - 4800 and they have the full roller rockers as accessories for it etc.

I was only wondering that if a cam is designed for a 302 will it give the same benifits to a 331? or will the increased stroke effect the cam timing?

the Cam part # is 363904

That's the $64,000 question. You are effectively changing the dynamics of the motor, and it is my belief that you need to step up one more grade in the cam department. You have more displacement and usually more CR, which make a larger cam act smaller. As far as the low end thing goes, the people who SPIN these motors for power are looking for the extra cubes stroking delivers, but to take it on a strictly mathematical level, increasing stroke increases torque, and high revving motors need LESS stroke and more bore and sometimes motors are DESTROKED to make high RPM screamers. I would go with the 1,500- 5,500 ( or whatever the high range is) cam. You may get different opinions on this, a lot of it has to do with what CR you will be running.

Well needless to say I will be doing a lot of reading, I am currently reading up on the port and polishing, I'll need to find info on cam characteristics so I can try and wrap my head around it.

You definately are, I thought the whole point of a stroker was to fool your competition in to thinking you had a smaller displcement motor than you really do! lol.

If it was a sleeper or a street rod, or a drag car then yeah no badges, but the badges are what will make this stand out. Because no one around here has a stroker.

i have a 331 stroker in my 95 f150 5speed
i tried the efi idea and i had to use a whole gt40 lower an upper intake and i had to get a computer made to handle fuel issues i also used a 302 boss block from ford racing, and keith black pistons and stuff from summit racing. and fastlane mustang i produced 430rwhp on my first dyno run and 450 on my second run. but it all depends on what u want ur motor to do
