351C oiling system
OK fellas have just purchased a 1980 f150 4x4 with no motor in the truck but with that purchase I also recieved a 351C and c6 tranny with only 40K miles on the mated pair for $1000 dollars the truck also has5 inches of total lift. I have already purchased a milodon 8 qt pan and pickup for $75 and a HV oil pump.
my question is what else can or should I do to make sure the heads get plenty of oil in the right spots?????

Don't worry about getting oil to the heads. If you rev it hard, you'll have to worry about getting too much oil to the heads.

Actually, 1974 was the last year they made the 351C.
Factory rating in 1974 for the 351C 2V was 163hp.
Sorry, I don't have torque numbers.

351C oiling system
The only modification you might need to make for a street engine is to put an external oil line from the oil passage in front of the fuel pump to the O.P. sending unit passage. Put in a T fitting so you can retain the O.P. sending unit. This is the same modification as you'd make on an M block. There's a page with a well documented Cleveland build up at:

Hey Bill thanks for the info. i did the oil line mod and i'm installing the motor this weekend.
