99 4R70W in 94 F-150 5.0?

I've got a chance to buy a brand new 99 4R70W 4.2 liter for $900. Can I use the 99 4R70W in my 94 F-150 302 and have the PCM control it correctly?

Everything I've read says it'll bolt up and is light years ahead of my 94 in build parts design. My concern is the electronics!

The 99 4.2 is a mod motor. I don't think the trans will bolt up to the 302. You may need some kind of adapter.

I believe the 5.0 and the 4.2 share the same bellhousing bolt pattern?
