I bought some today, buddy bought the roller kind and I bought the spray can...started his and I was iffy about it..so I was eager to see what mine would do, so I started doing the frame just to see what it would look like...AMAZING! this stuff works wonders on it, although it is 8$ a can, it looks great! my wheel wells and springs were a little rusty, sprayed that on and it looks great!!! I am only doing my bed rails, the rest of the bed is done and I want to take my ugly *** bed rail covers off anyways so im trying this... has anyone else used this stuff? anything I should know about spraying right next to the body, as for what I did underneath doesn't really matter....the bed rails have a few little holes in there from clips that were used to hold the cover down..any Ideas how to fill them? I don't think the spray is thick enough...Sorry this is so long for really no reason at all but I would greatly appriciete any advice..thanks a bunch. Kenny
Tryed it on a Nissan I used to own. Really didn't hold up. Never hauled anything and the bed was scuffed up before applying it. Just bad luck with it. Hope your turns out ok.
I haven't used Dupli-color's, but for the under side, I like a product that doesn't harden. So when something kicks up, it smears rather than chips. I use Permatex's HD (non-hardening) under body coating.
For the bed liner portion, prep is key. The more time you spend on prep work the longer it will last. You need to scratch/scuff up everything you intend to paint. If your bed is in bad shape, more than surface rust (say flaky rust and dents) I'd prime and scuff the primer with a Brillo pad.
For doing the rails, your going to need to mask off what you don't want done. The professionals have a masking tape with a steel cable in it to get that clean, sharp edge. You might be able to cut it with a scalpel(hobby knife), but your probably going to end up nicking your paint in the process. I don't know any tricks here, so be careful.
Well I guess I am going to take yalls advice and before I mess my truck up, I am going to ride to the rhino lining dealer where I got the bed done at and see how much the charge to do it. Anyone think they know? Its only two bed rails and the top of the tailgate...Thanks a lot guys
Agree I did some research on it and I did not find one pisitive thing about Dupicolor or Hercule liner. I saw the same thing over and over again " You get what you pay for". I like to say " Do it right do it light do it wrong do it long!"
I would recommend getting a professionally sprayed in liner, it's well worth the money. I used the stuff in the cans on my '04 and was not happy. It was too late by then. The pro stuff is quite think and durable. I dropped my fith wheel hitch on it 1 week after it was sprayed and not a mark on it.
I rollled the inside of the tub of my Bronco with the Dupilcolor and it came out nice. That said, I would not do the bed of my S/D with it. It is just not sturdy enough.
I was going to use the duplicolor for the front bumper of my 2000 Expedition.
Im still thinking about it. Im going to get Line-X for my Super Duty.

I've used the duplicolor stuff, and was not impressed at all.It flaked off and was not very sturdy. I have used Herculiner many times and it is a much better product. It is very tough and remains flexible. The only time it has ever come up is when the metal below it got damaged as well. It does get really non-slip and a little abrasive on stuff you throuw in the bed though.
