Just for reference, I heard during one of the oil discussions (ZDDP etc) that someone who rebuilt a Caddy flathead ruined a $1,000 of cam/lifters due to lack of ZDDP in modern oil. When you stray from The Path, you pay to play...

Lack of ZDDP will kill Flat Tappet Stuff real quick on breakin.
There are some companies working hard to supply the speciality car market with proper spec'ed oil once they realized they had hung us out.
