And if there was no A R from factory, do you guy punch the sw holes in the pass door to hold the 2 clips for the screw to hold the stock A R to the door or just use a long SMS??? Hummmmmmmmmm, Terry what does your trade do??
Jon
EDIT: did me the bonehead already ask this above??? duh.....
Hey Jon, we have a nutsert gun that we use most of the time, but on some vehicles I TIG some nuts in place.
Hey Terry......That crossed my wee mind as I have a lot left over from the bed project, but it seems that the 56 screws go in up at a slight angle, but I forget. I suppose the tin will give enough once you start the screw. Thanks I don't have the nuts on the driver side so I can see what they looked like. Just the 2 square holes.

Hey all. My arm rests arrived from Mid Fifty today, and I have some questions.
My truck didn't have factory arm rests. I ordered a set of them and two install kits from Mid Fifty last Sunday, and picked them up at the Post Office today. The arm rests are unpainted, and upholstered. Does anyone sell a ready made kit to upholster the sponge/ padded area, or do I need to have it professionally done?
Second, what color would they be from the factory? Everything on the interior of my truck is green, with the exception of the bench seat that is red. Do both parts of the arm rest match the green body color?
Thanks!
A truck buyer could acquire Arm Rests in 2 ways, as they were an Option Only item. One way was to Special Order them, the other was to buy a Custom Cab truck & even then you had to Special Order the passenger side Arm Rest.
As for the colour, the majority of Arm Rests that I've seen that were Original to the truck, had the base of the Arm Rest the colour of the interior of the truck w/ the Padded section Black & I've only seen Car Arm Rest that were matching in colour.
Hi Vern
Your arm rests look great, did you order from jeep
or go to a junk yard? Do you know what model they
came from?
Thanks
Bob, they are aftermarket. Jeep Wranglers from 1997-2002 (and maybe later) had a puny strap on the door and no arm rest. This aftermarket arm rest replaces that strap. They can be found in any Jeep mail order catalog for about $60 a pair. I bought them originally for a 2000 Wrangler, but used them later in a 2002. When I traded in the Jeep I kept them for my 48.
Hey Lift Tech, my wife sent your armrests off today!! Like I said they are covered in real leather not vinyl. If you dont already know this NEVER use Armor All on anything not even vinyl!! But if you want to put something on them use a product called Lexol it's specially made for leather. They make a product for vinyl called Vinylex its good for it unlike the Armor All. Armor All dries it out and takes out all the oil that's in the vinyl.
arm rests, who'd think there would be so many posts/views...........
thought i add acouple pictures showing the difference between regular 48-52 doors and "Deluxe Cab" doors with the arm rests mounting things, the mounting screws go in at an angle so they don't contact glass.
the grey door has the mounting stuff to bolt replacement "factory style" armrests like the ones dennis carpenter sells.

Thanks a ton, I think they arrived at my post office today. I had a note in my box saying that I had a package that was too large to fit that I need to pick up. I didn't make it before they closed today, but hopefully I can get up there one day this week before work.
I knew Armor All was bad stuff, but I was always told it was especially bad to get on paint. I didn't know it actually dried stuff out.
