I could use a little help with a 2004 F-150 that I purchased at auction, it has the "Keyless entry" drivers door and I would like to erase the present code and put in our own secret number. In the book it states that there is a mnfg. code that is preset and a card in the glove box that has this number. But having bought this vehicle at auction and the previous owner has passed away and I don't have the card to be able to get rid of the present numbers and put ours inplace. Does anyone know if each vehicle has a seperate number from the mnfg. or is there just one number for all pickups for that year? And what it is? Pat. P.
Ok along these lines, I put a re mote starter in my Lariat 06' SCREW. Before I did, my keypad worked fine. New, if I lock my truck using my keyless FOB, and then later renetr the truck, the horn goes crazy until I press the ublock button on the FOB...anyone have any idea why this is happening. Was the Remote start installed wrong? Also, before installing the remote start, when using the FOB to unlock the truck the headlights and interior lights would come on, now they do not.
It seems installing the remote statr changed a lot of things that used to work. Any comment / advice on the subject??
I would say that yes, the remote starter was installed incorrectly. I have an 04 with remote start and have never had that issue or the light issues. Mine works the same as before. what make of remote is it? I have a ford remote.. Also, search on remote because I've seen some other threads regarding remotes as well, but mostly, people not hooking up the unlock wires..

Ford installed it, so I assumed they had it put in correctly...not sure of the Brand...QTECH or something, books in the truck...

Two options...
(1) (try this first!)
If you were sitting in the driver seat, look above where your left toe would be up against the firewall, there is a box look for a 5 digit # Larger than the other #s this is the original entry code.
Use a flashlight!
(2)
The five digit code is on the BSM box which is a black box located on the driver side back wall of the cab. The box will have a blue and green plug to it. Remove the back seat and it is behind the black wool material. You will have to remove a few push pins to pull up the corner. The number is right on the front of box. Every truck should have come with a card with the number on it in the glove box with the key fobs.
Or the dealer can get it for you. Mine was on the back wall. I have an 04 super crew
