I have a detached 24 x 24 that I put my truck in. With a 9 foot door it fits easily and with the truck backed out it doubles as a work shop. On the house is a 3 car but I don't think my truck will fit under the 7 foot door. My wife and son get that one.
I have an old carriage house and my sd is a bit to long to fit. I park it in so the door closes down on the bed just behind the cab. Most of the truck is protected from the weather and there is a 6' overhang on the roof. It looks really really low class in my neighborhood, but the truck is out of the weather.
My garage is 24'x36'x12' (like a 2 1/2 car) but the doors are too narrow. I could pull my driverside mirror in and make it ok, but I'm a little nervous about putting a big white mark down the side of the truck. I'm saving up for new doors now, my wife has the white marks on both sides of her 2006 crew cab cheby above the back tires. I keep telling her I will have to do a full resto in a couple of years on a 06 model truck. She's killing it!!
My 30 x40 is big enough. Its amazing how long the truck is when you strap on a plow and put a sander in the back. Along with a 96 aerostar and 88 subaru loyal and honda 500 turbo bike and john deer 212 and well I'll stop..My incredible shrinking garage.
I have two brother in laws from New England. When you are born, do your parents make you play with green toys? Anyone up that way heard of BOB CAT or Caterpillar. All I ever hear is JOHN DEERE.
My one brother in law moved to northern Georgia and bot a new John Deere with 30 or so diesel horsepower. I told him I would lift him out of the mud when he gets stuck with my T-180 BOB CAT.
And, same brother in law still has a TOY -- ota pickup. He put on a rack, and I honestly think he is overloaded. GREAT rack. He salivatates when I use my tail gate step. He tripped when he used his bumper as a step. We all learn.
My baby stays in the garage. Tow hook touches the dryer vent on the front, back door closes about 3 inches from the back bumper. I drive in on an angle so both drivers side doors can open beside the car. I use a tennis ball too. Trick is getting Wife to park far enough to her side her back door doesnt ding me. Its a really tight fit especially with the trailer in the driveway on my side, I run down the trailer with my mirror about 2 inches away the lenght of the 27 ft trailer to get in the garage. So far so good, previous SD was shorter, only carved a piece out of the entry once and learned. When I bought this one, I brought it home and test fit the CC SB to make sure it fit. Its actually a bit lower than the old one so more room for the cab. Next place will have a shop with a door big enough for the trailer and one for the SD with heated work space.
