Maybe I should be posting this on the AC forum, but the real 73 -79 pros are here. I would like to replace my OEM York compressor with a newer R134 rotary compressor, e.g., a Sanden. I have the factory ac system in my 1976 F350 supercab with 460. Does anyone make and adapter kit to retro fit a rotary compressor for the York? My system was converted to R134 about 5 years ago. The compressor still works, but has developed a leak at the highside exit fitting (I think there's a name for that fitting, but since I'm not an ac pro, I don't know what it is). I'm also planning to upgrade to the largest condensor that will fit. Any and all comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've been to ackits.com, but don't see any York to rotary retro kits.
Tom... Do you know if ackits.com was the source for this stuff? Some of the items I would not need, because I've already converted to "134". I'm thinking I need compressor and conversion bracket, receiver-drier, and an upgrade to new condensor. Thanks for your reply.
