no I am not kiddin...maybe i didn't hear the guy correctly. I have been scratchin my head trying to get some answers.
I had CPS replaced A month ago it died today. So I was talkin to the a Ford mechanic and said there was another recall for a stalling issue and i could have sworn he said muffler bearings i asked him if he was chittin me and he said no and made a appointment to bring it in
Call him back and clarify exactly what it was he told you. If he tells you muffler bearings, thank him for letting you know, set up an appointment, again thanking him. Make sure you get his first and last name because you want to make sure he's there and can take care of you since you trust him so much, then call the district manager for Ford and see if he'll come with you for your appointment.
If the guy is full of chit, it's better to stop him before he talks to too many others. For future reference you can access the recalls & TSB's for your truck on one of those buttons at the top of this page.
Since your not kidding do as Chris suggested. there is no such thing as a muffler bearing. The link I posted is for a website that we have been playing around with here for the last week or so. I thought you may have been baiting a thread, so I played along, then I noticed your low post count and i occured to me you might be serious and need some help.
tell us more about the problem you are having, and lights? any symptoms before the shut off? does it just go dead?
My 99 F350 is still acting up as well after my CPS recall. I have had a spare in and it it still stalls on average once per day. I am now going to put a new CPS harness on. The stall is less more of a miss some days were it just stumbles and restarts on its own. Other times i have gone off the road. I took it in to my local shop and they can't find a thing wrong. No codes, no issues. I refuse to take it to my local dealership. They are brutal and will never touch my wallet again. I am going to clean MY EBV today as well. If the problem still persists, I am going to break down and buy a 06-07 3500 Cummins.
