I have no doubt that diesel will be close to $5/gal everywhere by the end of summer if the current trend in the oil patch continues.

We build oil well drilling equipment (everything you need to bore a hole and suck the oil out) and in the 24 years that I have worked here I have never seen it as busy as it is right now. We have so much work that we are actually partnering with some of our once competitors and subbing work out to them.

Hiway robbery , and we're supposed to believe it needs to be that high because of inflation? There causing it by driving up prices. Our vacation plans are shot for the summer.

Luckily for us the lake that we like to camp at is only 30ish miles from the house. We will be going there alot this summer, and not taking a long trip. I can go to and from the lake with my 5er hooked and only use 1/4 tank.
The even better part is, my Wednesday route takes me within 5 miles of the campground, so on wednesdays I will tow the camper and call it buisness mileage.

how true. I am in the grocery industry (resturant supply), and some of the market reports that I have seen are scary.

I know of some farmers here in AL that sold 5000 bushels of corn to Pilgrims Pride( a large poultry producer in north AL) for $5.78 per bushel. normal price per bushel is around $2.

I've spent 200 buck's on my not been driven in 3 years VDub in the past 2 days and still don't have it road worthy. It gets 35 mpg which is the only reason I'm fooling with it. It's not a good idea to leave a car sitting out in a field for that long and then hope you're just gonna get in and and drive it away.

I tried that a couple years ago with an '95 escort I inherited and it just didn't pan out for me
besides feeling like a target and having a hell of a time getting in and out of it the insurance figured about $50 a month,so i gave up and sold it
