Here is a pic of the interior that I put in the truck. I still need a couple of things but it looks 100% better than what it did. I have since changed the door panels so it actually looks a little better now than in the pic. I know I would rather shoot myself in the leg than swap another complete dash though.
It is pretty close, you have the really light colored tan in yours though don't you? I know it doesn't look like it in my pic but mine is actually a brown color. I think that you have the interior that was in my truck. It is a lighter color. Right now the things I need are a good dash pad and sun visors. I am in the process of swapping the power windows and locks out of the other truck too. The 86 is an XLT so it has all the under dash courtesy lights and the digital clock. It is taking some time to swap all the electrical stuff. You wouldn't happen to have the piece that goes across the bottom of the inside back of the cab do you? If you need any body parts let me know the 86 is completely solid and has never been on salted roads. I can send you some pics. Let me know.
If you are talking about the vents in the kick panels, remember that on non-vented F-series kick panels, there is a block off plate behind the kick panel you need to remove first IIRC. The complete interior pieces can be swapped with just a phillips screw driver! And a socket set if you count the seat(s)! Torx socket if you count the seat bealts. Stosh is right - the interiors are easy. So are adding factory options - pretty much the plus are all there, the monuting holes are all there (i.e. adding courtest lights, etc.) Have fun and make it how you want it!
Hints: becareful no to bend the upper windshield trim piece when removing it(it is held in place by metal fasteners that can be in there real tight and easy on the door panels too (they make a cheap tool to help you remove the door panels w/o breaking the mounts that the door panel fasteners snap into. Finally use caution when removing the screws on the dash pad near the defroster vents (it is easy to drop the screws down them!)

Reason: typo
sorry, i should have said dash vents. the 250 has a/c, with the dash mounted vents, also has the tach. but the 150 doesn't have either. changing the dash out is what i'm worried about
I am trying to find a replacement to my old crappy sun beat one...I have the same interior.
Tim
Days and days of scrounging through about 10 different salvage yards over a two year period till I got lucky and found a mint one.
I have since found a few more mint ones but not that color. They are nearly impossible to find.
Your best bet is to find a good one and use SEM paint to match. I bought some SEM paint ($36 a pint) that I am going to use on my door panels. I had my local paint shop custom blend it for me based on scanning one of the kick panels.
I used some of it to touch up some nicks in the dash and its a nearly perfect match.
Something I forgot to mention- there is a classifieds section in this forum. This is where I got my pristine black dash pad for $30. Go to the 80-86 full-size vehicles and parts for sale. Currently there is at least one person considering parting out a vehicle and it could have a great dash pad in it, but you'll never know if you don't ask. Often times the forums rules restrict them from coming out and making parts for sale offers directly, and sometimes they just list parts or vehicles and never participate in the forums, while the forum people never check the classifieds....hmmmm. BTW- Great idea on the color match U.S.- I just bought the rattle can closest to my blue interior and plan on shooting EVERYTHING- it'll all look new and needs it. At this point, all I have done is the door panels but they look awesome.
While we are on the subject of interior restoration- I came very close to buying a set of window cranks off ebay for my '80 as they are in pretty bad shape. At my local O'Reilly's, I was looking through the HELP section for something or other and found some Dorman replacement handles for @ $7.50 ea. That would have been shipping on ebay. They are some really nice looking handles, too- look just like OEM except new!
