Where did you get the guages from and how much were they. I had those guages on my 04 and when I get my 06 back I am going to remove the Banks and install a new set of guages.
Sarge
Diesel Manor. $433 with weather packs and full sweep trans temp. See Storm's webiste for better pics.
The good news is that you finally have the gauges now. Dipriocols are gorgeous and they look amazing in the cab. It'll all get worked out and you'll be on to other mods before you know it. I would continue to push the installer.
As for your 4th pod, I would look at the Whistler Cruisader Motorcycle Radar Detector. They are designed for a standard guage pod. Very cool.
They have agreed to Tig weld on a patch on Monday. He was hesitant at first telling me that everyone has an opinion. He also said on the Duramax he always taps the boost tube. I will post the pictures of the weld next week.

Tell him thats because access the Duramax's intake plenum is a PITA compared to the 6L and 7.3L.. Again as nicely as I can put it, simply tell him "Go outside, look at my grill.. DO YOU SEE A F*&(@(*#ing Bowtie?"
Sorry I hate stupid idiots who use the comment "oh well I do it on this type of vehicle".. I have many folks that I get stuck fixing crap that other shops screw up because they don't use their heads
Just an FYI.. I'd go look for another shop in the future.. Anyone who says they do it like that on another vehicle is not worth the headache.. Not every engine is the same, nor is every manufacturer even the same.. Next thing you know you might leave with a Cummins fuel filter (not really but you get my drift)..
Most likely will not use this shop again. He is a huge Cummins & Duramax guy (found out after I used him to install guages). Said he can easily mod a cummins to produce 1000 ft pounds of torque but would recommend I not modify my 6.0L at all as its the weakpoint in the Fords!!

Nah the 6L isn't a weak point.. With the right shop, right guy and the right parts the 6L can put some serious power down.. That's a typical response from a Cummapart.. I'm an ol' Dodge Guy.. Grew up building 90 Model 12V Cummins.. I can tell him straight up the newer Cummins engines are a JOKE compared to the 90 model 12V's.. I'd take one of those before I ever touched any of the newer blocks..
I wonder what it looks like on the inside ? I mean if it's rough on the inside it's going to disrupt the air flow. Prolly bugger all... but in my mind it's like spending lots of money on a nice mandrel bent exhaust then drilling a hole in it and welding a patch over it....
