New Mod?!

Hows this sound? Have the shaft between the turbo wheels plated with titanium nitride. The plating will reduce wear of the shaft and FRICTION! If you can reduce friction the wheels should spool up faster and maybe even give you higher RPMS on the turbo.

How would you coat the shaft with teflon? Ti NI is harder than carbide and should out last teflon, maybe.

The turbo is still gonna die above 35 psi anyway. The thrust bearing is the big hitter in turbo life.

That is why it needs a real thrust bearing.
Might be able to get a little more out of it.
Never ventured down that road. (as of yet)

Not worth it in my opinion. If you can feb up a mounting kit turbo's are cheap. Already have my HX50 (newer version of H2E) then just need to build a mounting kit. I will have less $ into it than a rebuilt stocker.

You can always have the thrust bearing and all other places that come in contact with each other plated such as the groves where the piston ring seals go.

What makes you say it will die above 35 psi?

How much would a HX50 cost? and where would you get one?

The lowest price I found for a rebuilt stock turbo was about 900.00 and some after markets go for like 2000.00!
