Smile So what does an 02 03 7.3 exscursion get

In feul mileage? I know this is probably a tired question but I just signed and am looking at trading an 04 lariat supercab 4x4 in on an limited 4x4 7.4. I get 16.5 and 18 or so now with the gas.

Welcome to FTE.

FYI. You might also ask this in the excursion section. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum29/

Welcome to FTE. I suppose the Lariat is a gasser. You can expect similar, if not better #s from a 7.3 X. Some get worse. Where it shines is towing. Strap something to a gasser and watch the mpg nosedive. Now diesel is also very expensive these days. You must consider this as filling the tank is more painful than I ever remember.

Just did a 350 mile trip today in my new-to-me '02 7.3 Ex. Most of it spent at about 70-75 mph and got 17.1 mpg. That's hand-calc and my trip computer said the same thing too.

FWIW-the day before, I did about 400 miles, mostly at about 80, higher elevation too, and got only 14.5 mpg.

It seemed pretty obvious at the time too that mileage was going down dramatically at 80. I think I could have seen 18+ if I was only going 65ish.
